The monthly Tickets are valid for a set of zones selected by the customer at the time of purchase, allowing to travel for 1 month (calendar).

Andante monthly ticket especially aimed at individuals and families with lower economic resources.

  • Retirees and Pensioners whose total monthly value of pensions, pension supplements and other gross household income is lower than or equal to 1.2 times the value of the Social Support Index (IAS).
  • All household members with an average monthly income lower than or equal to 1.2 times the value of the IAS, the average monthly equivalent income being calculated according to the formula:

  • Beneficiaries of unemployment benefit and unemployment social benefit with a monthly income lower than or equal to 1.2 times the value of the IAS.
  • Beneficiaries of the Social Integration Income (RSI) – Social+ A.

The Social Support Index (IAS) is 509,26 eur.

  • Subscription to the Social+ fare can be done in Andante Shops or Andante sale points in the participating municipalities.
  • To top up your Andante monthly ticket Social+ ticket you can use any of the previous locations, the Automatic Vending Machines (MVA) located in Metro and CP (train) stations, the Payshop agents, the Private Operators and the ATMs.
  • Every year, it is mandatory to prove the condition of beneficiary of the Social + Fare by presenting new documentation.
  • On subscribing / renewing, the card profile is valid for another 12 months.
  • For the beneficiaries of unemployment benefit or unemployment social benefit, the renewal is half-yearly (6 months counted from the date of subscription / renewal).
  • Renewal can only be done in the month in which the profile expires.
  • The annual renewal of the Andante Social PVC card profile can be done in Andante Shops or sale points in the participating municipalities.
  • The Andante Social + monthly ticket can only be topped up onto the Andante PVC card.
  • It is mandatory to submit the original documents for verification.
  • No accumulation of discounts with the current fares in force.

Andante monthly ticket attributed to each member of the household which allows the total payment of the equivalent value of 2 Andante 3Z / Municipal tickets (60 euros) or the equivalent value of 2 Andante Metropolitan tickets (80 euros).

  • Households (minimum 3 members) with tax residence in one of the 17 municipalities of Porto Metropolitan Area.
  • To use Andante Family it is necessary that all the members of the household (responsible applicant and remaining beneficiaries) are holders of the silver Andante PVC card. PVC 4_18 and Sub23 cards are not accepted.

The applicant responsible and the following persons are part of the same household:

  • Spouse or cohabiting partner, in this case for more than 2 years;
  • Relatives and kin in a direct line (grandparents, parents, parents-in-law, children and grandchildren) and in a collateral line up to the 2nd degree of the responsible applicant or the person who has been in a cohabiting partnership for more than 2 years;
  • Adopted and fostered by the responsible applicant or by the cohabiting partner, as well as minors entrusted to them by judicial or administrative decision of entities or services legally competent for that purpose.

It is an indispensable condition that all members of the household have the same tax residence.

  • Andante Family Application and Commitment Declaration for adults.
  • Submitting civil identification documents of all members of the household.
  • To prove the degree of kinship, please provide a copy:
    • IRS cover sheet; OR
    • Proof of household income issued by the Tax Authority; OR
    • Civil identification documents of all members of the household.
  • If the Applicant has not confirmed the details of the household on the Tax Authority website, it is also necessary to submit the tax residence certificate for each member of the household.
  • Subscription to the Andante Family fare can be done in Andante Shops or Andante sale points in the participating municipalities.
  • To top up your Andante Family monthly ticket, you can use any of the previous locations, the Automatic Vending Machines (MVA) located in Metro and CP (train) stations, Payshop agents and Private Operators

The Andante Family profile is attributed to the entire household for a period of 12 months after which it is mandatory to make a new proof of beneficiary, delivering all the necessary documentation.

  • All members of the household must obligatorily top up the same season ticket; that is, there cannot be, for example, 2 members with Andante 3Z and 2 members with Andante Metropolitan.
  • The ticket is topped up on a monthly basis.
  • Andante Family cannot be topped up in ATMs.
  • The Andante Family has, by itself, a discount, so there are no other discounts that can be accumulated. Ex. A current Senior client automatically loses that profile and respective discount when adhering to Andante Family.
  • It is mandatory to submit the original documents for verification.

Andante monthly Pass for people aged 65 and over.

Presentation of civil and tax identification document.

  • Subscription to the Senior fare can be done in Andante Shops, CP Ticket Offices with Andante sales or Andante sale points in the participating municipalities.
  • To top up your Andante Senior monthly ticket, you can use any of the previous locations, the Automatic Vending Machines (MVA) located in Metro and CP (train) stations, the Payshop agents, the Private Operators and the ATMs.
  • The Senior monthlyticket can only be topped up onto the Andante PVC card.
  • The card profile is renewed every 5 years.

Andante monthly pass for all students from 4 to 18 years old (inclusive) who do not attend higher education and who do not benefit from school transport assured by the City Councils.

  • Presentation of the Civil Identification document.
  • Original of the 4_18 Request / Application?? (model established by IMT) provided by the school secretariat, duly signed and stamped (date of declaration must be less than 3 months old).
  • Subscription to the 4_18 fare can be done in Andante Shops, CP Ticket Offices with Andante sales or Andante sale points in the participating municipalities.
  • To top up your monthly ticket 4_18, you can use any of the previous places, the Automatic Vending Machines (MVA) located in the Metro and CP (train) stations, Payshop agents, Private Operators and ATMs.
  • Every year, it is mandatory to prove the condition of beneficiary of the 4_18 fare by presenting new documentation.
  • On subscribing / renewing, the card profile is valid until 30th September of the following year.
  • The renewal can be done from the 1st of July to the 30th of September without having to pay the monthly fee immediately.
  • The annual renewal of the Andante PVC 4_18 card profile can be done in Andante Shops, CP Ticket Offices with Andante sale or sale points in the participating municipalities.
  • Up to 12 (inclusive) years old, transportation is free of charge, so it is not necessary to purchase the 4_18 monthlyticket.
  • Only the legal representative of the under-16s may sign all documentation at the sale point.
  • The Andante 4_18 monthly ticket can be used for 12 months, starting in September of each school year.
  • Andante monthly ticket for all students up to the age of 23 (inclusive) enrolled in study programmes officially recognised by the Ministry responsible for Higher Education.
  • Under Decree 249-A/2018, students enrolled in the Medicine and Architecture courses defined by the IMT benefit from the same discount until the age of 24 (inclusive)
  • Presentation of the Civil Identification document.
  • Original of the Sub23 Request / Application?? (model established between the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education and the Secretariat of State for Transport) provided by the college secretariat duly signed and stamped (date of declaration must be less than 3 months old).
  • If the student is enrolled at the University of Porto they should access estudante.tip.pt.
  • Subscription to the Sub23 fare can be done in Andante Stores, CP Ticket Offices with Andante sales or Andante sale points in the participating Municipalities.
  • To top up your monthly ticket Sub23, you can use any of the previous locations, the Automatic Vending Machines (MVA) located in Metro and CP (train) stations, the Payshop agents, the Private Operators and ATMs.
  • Every year, it is mandatory to prove the condition of beneficiary of the Sub23 fare by submitting new documentation.
  • On renewing, the card profile is valid until 30th September of the following year.
  • The renewal can be done until 30th September without having to pay the monthly fee immediately.
  • If by 30 September the student is unable to renew their enrolment for the next academic year, they can extend the validity of their benefit until 31 October as long as they are in exam season and submit the Under23 declaration again for the academic year that is about to end.
  • The annual renewal of the Andante PVC card Sub23 profile can be done in Andante Shops, CP Ticket Offices with Andante sale or sale points in the participating Municipalities.
  • The Andante Sub23 monthly ticket can only be topped up onto your own card. The Andante Sub23 monthly ticket can be used for 12 months, starting in September of each academic year.
  • Andante monthly ticket totally free for all children from 4 to 12 years old (inclusive) that allows the free use of public transports integrated in the Andante intermodal system throughout the Porto Metropolitan Area. The Sub13 ticket is only available in the Metropolitan category.
  • If you do not have the silver Andante PVC card, you will have to buy it for 6 euros.
  • Presentation of the civil identification document (original).
  • Statement issued by the school proving that the student does not benefit from school transport (only for students grades 1-4 onwards).
  • The Andante Sub13 monthly ticket is annual, that is, topped up once on the child’s birthday month and is valid for 12 months.
  • The card is valid until the month in which the child turns 13 or until the date stated on the card itself.

Subscription and renewal are done in an Andante Shop, CP ticket office with Andante sale or Andante Sale Points of the Municipalities.

  • Children aged 4 and 5 may benefit from the Sub13 monthly ticket even if they are not enrolled in any educational establishment; they will only have to submit the original citizen card.
  • The Sub13 monthly ticket is valid every month until the card’s validity limit or until the month in which the child turns 13.
  • Annual renewal is mandatory (in the month of the child’s birthday).
  • Validation for Sub13 cards is mandatory.

Andante monthly ticket for holders of the Veteran card and Veteran’s widow(er), with tax residence in one of the 17 municipalities of Porto Metropolitan Area. The attribution conditions are set forth under Decree no. 198/2021.

  • Submitting Civil and Tax Identification documents.
  • Andante Application as Veteran.
  • Presentation of the Veteran card or of the Veteran’s widow(er) card approved by Decree no. 210/2020, 3rd September (if you do not yet have a Veteran’s card or a Veteran’s widow(er) card, you must update your details for issuing the card through the Ministry of National Defence or through the One-Stop Defence Desk.
  • Delivery of tax residence certificate issued by the Tax Authority.
  • Subscription is done in an Andante shop, CP ticket office with Andante sale or in the Andante Sale Points of the Municipalities.
  • The monthly top-up can also be done at an Automatic Vending Machine (MVA) existing in the Metro and CP (train) stations or in one of the numerous Payshop agents.
  • This monthly ticket cannot be topped up at ATMs.

The annual renewal is mandatory, 12 months after subscribing, with all the documents required for subscription.

  • The Andante Veteran monthly ticket is topped up monthly.
  • If you change tax residence or need to change from Standard to Senior, you will need to submit new documentation.
  • The wives of Veterans are not entitled to the free monthly ticket (for more information, please contact the DGRDN).
  • The Andante Veteran monthly ticket is not available with the Combined CP or CIM Tâmega e Sousa.
  • The Andante Veteran monthly ticket is topped up onto the silver Andante PVC card.
  • People under 65 can purchase the Andante Metropolitan monthly ticket for 10 euros.
  • Check the information available on the website IMT.
  • The combined monthly ticket Andante Metropolitan + CP is valid on the journey via CP between Paredes and Marco de Canaveses, besides all the lines and operators already integrated in the Andante Intermodal System.
  • The combined monthly ticket can only be topped up on Andante cards.
  • The 1st top-up must be done in an Andante shop or CP ticket office with Andante sales.
  • For the following top-ups, you can also use the Metro and CP Automatic Vending Machines as well as Payshop agents.
  • Check the information available on the website of CP.
  • Combined monthly ticket Andante Metropolitan + CIM Tâmega e Sousa is intended for users of the interregional lines of public monthly ticket enger road transport between the geographical area of the Intermunicipal Community of Tâmega and Sousa (CIM Tâmega e Sousa) and Porto Metropolitan Area (AMP).
  • The combined monthly ticket can only be topped up on Andante cards.
  • The 1st top-up must be done in an Andante shop or CP ticket office with Andante sales.
  • For the following top-ups, you can also use the Metro and CP Automatic Vending Machines as well as Payshop agents.

Concept

Andante is the ticket for public transport in Porto Metropolitan Area. Whether you take the bus, metro or train, you can always use Andante. The price you pay depends only on the journey you make and not on the mode of transport you use or the number of boardings you make. It’s simple, practical and affordable – lots of transports in one ticket or in the same card.

Validation

Must validate when you start a journey, when you change line or transport and whichever your card is – the same applies to the App. You can validate your ticket a maximum of 10 minutes before starting your journey.

On trains and subways, use the existing validators in the stations. On buses, use the validators at the entrance of the vehicle.

To validate approach the card (or the phone, if you use the App) less than 10 cm away from the black circle of the validator.

If a green lights comes on, the validation is correct.

You'll hear a sound and can read on the validator screen the balance remaining on the card.

If a red light comes on, the validation is not correct.

You'll hear a different sound and can read a message on the validator screen indicating the reason. To read the message carefully, hold your card for a few seconds in front of the black circle on the validator.
